Max Teuruaa Sets Decathlon National Record at Commonwealth Games
Max Teuruaa delivered a landmark performance for the Cook Islands at the XXIII Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, scoring 6,434 points in the decathlon to set a new national record. Across the ten events he posted personal bests of 11.18s in the 100m, 6.64m in the long jump and a national-record 4.00m in the pole vault, before clocking 15.93s in the 110m hurdles. The result caps a remarkable season that also saw him claim the 110m hurdles national record of 15.34s at the NZ Track & Field Championships in Auckland.
